I did a couple of surf lessons with In Da Surf during my short stay in Canggu and it was well and truly worth it! These guys really make sure that they cater to each individual and their needs. Sunny was my instructor and in just two lessons with him I went from barely being able to get up on my board to consistently getting up on my board and catching waves!
I had booked 4 days surf and stay and I loved it! I am a beginner and there is nothing better to progress than taking private lessons + watching the videos of the past session to improve next time! Big shout out to the best surf teachers Agil and Surya! Thank you so much guys!
The best surf lessons in Canggu. Thank you so much to the best teachers that guided me thru the lesson not only in the water, but with the videos you watch afterwards of your perfomance, which are great to get a good idea on what to improve. Besides that, they also invited me to a theory class in surfing, which was really good too! Amazing teachers - will be back again!
My sister and I did the surf and stay package at In Da Surf for 7 days. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there! The accommodation was super clean and had such a chilled vibe. The staff are all SO lovely and helpful. We had Indra for our surf coach and he was amazing , really friendly and informative. All the other instructors were also very helpful. Will definitely be returning again hopefully very soon!!
My experience at indasurf has been perfect, the guys at the camp are very nice people and helped me a lot with my surfing skills. I started with a soft board and after a few days I got a hard board and started practicing my first turns. Their recommendations were very helpful, and I feel that I have improved a lot during these two weeks. The instructors are 100% involved in the guests, they are very professional in the water and very good friends outside as well, always ready to have a few beers or even organise a bbq. As for the accommodation, it is spacious, clean, quiet and has a large swimming pool. The staff who work at the camp prepare delicious breakfasts and are very friendly. I definitely recommend this place if you want to surf and make new friends. It's a super cozy place!
The best camp to learn and improve surfing. I stayed in kuta, but every morning I came this camp to surf with them. Excellent surf camp. Incredibly talented and friendly surf instructors that cater to your level. Good atmosphere at the hostel and make you feel welcome from day 1. Would 100% recommend to anyone wanting to learn surfing.
I am a total beginner and I had amazing lessons- I chose to do 1:1 instruction which was totally worth it. I had 3 lesson days with a rest day in between each surf day which I think really helped me make the most out of each lesson ( I am also 52 years old). My instructor, Sunny as he liked to be called, was amazing. I really felt like he took his time explaining things and I had a sense of safety under his guidance. It was super fun, and I hope to try pursuing additional lessons in the future. The school was clean and modern, nicely appointed. The young people who stayed there, seemed comfortable there. I stayed in other lodging. Booking and admin were easy to work with, WhatsApp made this easy while traveling. Highly recommend this surf school.
As solo traveller, what a great experience. I had only 8 days of former surfing experience in Kuta and never surf before during covid, after 2 years and this 5 days lesson in Canggu with In Da surf gave me many improvement - paddling, checking waves, paddle out, side turns...last day they let me change my board to more advanced level board also had surfing trip to another spot which is best experience at surfing with some rain, staff also very friendly and profassional, maybe I will visit In Da surf again next time for level up my skill
Amazing surf lessons with the team. They picked me up from my villa where I was staying close by and went surfing with two other women. The first day out the waves were 7-10 feet. The second day was much better at 5-7... It was some of the biggest wave I've ever experienced. I was a bit overwhelmed but the team made sure to guide us and let me know when to dive / turtle roll out of the way or catch the shoulder. They had a infectious can do attitude that helped me overcome my fears. Looking back I'm still in shock I managed to catch a few of those big waves
My week of surfing at In da Surf was so chill, relaxed, I loved it! The surf coaches were amazing, I made a lot of progress in one week and they gave me really good tips! Very good atmosphere at the hostel :) The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is delicious! Very highly recommended!!

We were in the Surf and Stay in the private room for a week. The room and the hostel were very clean and the people are all very friendly and helpful. We surfed with coach Surya. In this short time he taught us a lot and took care of us very well. Thank you so much Sunny K for this great time and the guitar sessions too.

It’s my second time with Indasurf and I can’t express how great it is with these guys! When you wake up every morning to take the class at 7 am and you are really happy about every wave you take. It's my first time surfing with In Da Surf. Such an amazing place and I had a great experience. All the coaches are very nice, professional, and gave us lots of advice on the waves and in the classroom. Especially Surya: he answered all my questions patiently, and helped me get over some fear. With his help I stood up a lot! And he also gave us the surf theory lesson which is so useful. Can't wait to go back!

Such a sweet school! All instructors are super laid back and cool! Surfing with Suria has been a treat from the beginning! He has taken me to secret spots I would have never ventured on in my own. I had a few private lessons without pressure on timing, Got amazing tips and I am definitely improving. Oh yeah! Hi five for the camera men (also Suria) for the good work that allowed us to review and get some theory in the review! Would definitely repeat next time I come back! If you are intermediate surfer, don’t think twice and get on your board!

When the place becomes home, when team members become friends and when you're heart feels heavy on the day you leave - you know that staying at In Da Surf was the best decision of your Bali visit. I had booked the whole package for my first week on Bali and I had such a good time, that I even returned at the end of my Bali holidays, thereby sacrificing other nice places I could have visited instead. But it's all about the people and the In Da Surf team is just great - every single one of them! Special thanks to Verena, camp manager, who was always helpful with anything I needed and Surya who's not only a great surf guide but a nice fellow to hang out with.
I stay in Canggu just for 2 days. Well...definitely too short. Amazing beach with amazing waves and surfing instructors. Surya is a cool guy:)! Teach me feel the waves instead just pushing me to stand on the board. Also save my life and protect me well. Will come again soon!
First time I surfed in Bali I had a really good time :) I felt very confident in the water thanks to the advice of my teacher Surya I recommend this surf school and will probably go back there
This is my third time surfing with in da surf and I keep coming back because I love it so much! Everyone is always friendly and super accommodating, I’ve learned so much about surfing and the coaches are always helping me improve. Indra and Surya have coached me every time I’ve been and it’s been super special, they’re amazing surfers and even better coaches! What a perfect time at the Indasurf surfschool. We really enjoyed it and had so much fun.Everyone is friendly and so relaxed. Our favourite Instructor was Irfun...he had so much Patience and always kept smiling and helped us through the waves...Now we know how surfing feels like. You are Great Irfun!!!!and don't forget to sent us the soundtrack-especially the Indonesian Reggae
Surya was awesome. We are beginners and we were able to ride a ton of waves. He really helped us feel like we got better. Even the video, however embarrassing was really helpful. Thanks In Da Surf!! #enjoylife is right!!
I went to Bali for the first time this year. I wanted to check in "my list of things to do in my life" : doing surf in Bali" After comparing several schools and reviews, I decided to try "In da Surf". The service was perfect: they pick you up at the hotel, you go to camp where the whole team receives you in a really great mood, only good vibes. Then we were ranked by levels, it was my first time and I was a little scared but Surya and the team always calm me down. Once there, Surya gave us a theory class before entering the water. It was with great patience from Surya that in one lesson I managed to stay on my board, what a sensation! After an hour and a half in the water we came back to the camp to analyze the videos that were taken from us during the course to analyze the points of improvement. I loved this school and its team! I can not wait to return to.
My 4th time surfing with In Da Surf - such an amazing place to live, social and surf. The staffs are super friendly and accommodating, which is always a good addition to the vibe. I love it because all the instructors here really focus on teaching the full-set of proper surfing techniques. My favourite instructor is Surya!! This man super experienced and very clear in explaining all my questions. Can't ask for a better one :)

I loveeeed In Da Surf, the staff were amazing - the whole booking process and communications with Hugo was the most stress free ever. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating! The lessons were really fun, as a person who has never tried surfing before initially I was super nervous but Surya was super reassuring and gave very clear instructions, plus the video analysis after the lessons were extremely useful. In da surf also ran a drop in surf theory 101 which I highly recommend going to for anyone who has little idea about surfing or surfing beaches around Bali. :) Thanks Team!

In Da Surf is the best Surfing School in Canggu. These guys are just great, immediately became friends. Not only they showed me in like one Session how to stand up and surf a wave for the first time in my life. They took us on a Trip to the WestCoast(Sumbul Beach/ Balian Beach). I had such a great week at Surfer House. My lessons with Surya were awesome- it was my first time surfing, and I felt really comfortable with him in the water! He gave lots of helpful advice and support after every wave and during surf theory. Would recommend to everyone!
Just had an amazing surfing lesson with Surya. It was my first time surfing so I thought I would never manage but I actually stood up on the board after few waves! His explanations were really clear, giving great directions in the water and good tips to improve! Checking the videos after the session was as well good to see what to do better next time. I can only recommend to go with indasurf, great people and great vibe! Next time I’m in Bali I will definitely go there again :)

In da surf hostel and surf school is absolutely superb! I can't describe how amazing this place is from the staff, the food, and the accommodation! The staff are so helpful and really make you feel like you're at home. For the 2 weeks that I stayed at in da surf it felt like I made another family since we surfed, ate, hungout and partied together which was overall such an amazing vibe!! If you're a solo backpacker you will make friends and probably a family in no time! If you're with a group of friends this is a great place to meet others, party and share great memories! Another side note is that it's close to everything (beaches, party spots, great places to eat!). I would highly recommend in da surf and when I come back to canggu I will without a doubt stay there again!!:) Ps. Book more nights than less since they fill up quickly and the vibes here are indescribable!

In da surf camp was amazing, we had an incredible week at the surfer house learning to surf, making friends, doing yoga and having a great time all for a really good price! We even tried to look for cheap accommodation and surf lessons separately but it was no way near as good as this option and sooooo happy we didn't go anywhere else!! We stayed in the surf house rather than the villa as we are travelling for 6 months so wanted a slightly cheaper option, as well as the social aspect. The house is very clean, cleaned each day. Rooms are nice and airy with air con, also clean. Nice ensuite bathrooms. You have your own secure locker. The staff are incredible, Ekka and Setya are lovely, so friendly and always happy to help! The breakfast was included in our package and was super tasty... they have a lovely garden where you can chill and relax. It's about 15 minute walk from the beach, or you can hire one of their scooters for a really competitive price. The surf lessons were fab, special shout out to Martin who was a great instructor. He really took the time to go through theory and explain the waves and give little tips when out catching waves and back at the villa. Some sessions were filmed but not all, this is perhaps my only critique, from the wording on the package you assume every lesson will be filmed; still got the majority though and get to keep these! The videos are reviewed at the end of each surf session to see where you can improve! We improved A LOT over just one week so cannot fault the lessons...they were really good at assessing your ability and moving you to different boards and surfing spots depending on this. Overall our experience was brilliant, it did help we had a really good group of people In the hostel who were like minded and wanted to socialise. We went for dinner each evening and always invited any new arrivals out too! At one point we had 7 nationalities at dinner. Thanks Hugo and Indra for an amazing week, it was really special :)
If you're looking for a surf lesson in canggu, look no more! In da Surf is where it's at!! It's the best value for your money (I checked around!) especially with it only being 2 people in the group lesson, not to mention the video component -- which is awesome to take notes on to see what you're doing right/wrong. Suriya is also a great teacher and speaks English very well :D highly recommend!!
I've been so happy to have moved here after my first week in Canggu at another location. There is nothing these guys won't do for you, on top of the great central location, professionally run (and safe) surf lessons, and of course the fantastic staff. I genuinely feel cared for which is pretty special. Will be back here again later this year as soon as I can. Thanks Indra, Hugo & team! Anna
I happened to be staying around the corner from the surf house and stopped in to ask about surfing, my only regret was I didn't stop by sooner. I ended up surfing with Indra and the guys two days, I've been surfing a handful of times in Latin America and the US and those two days really took my surfing up a few notches. Usually I just rent a board on the beach and hop in by myself, man was that not the way to do it! Indra or one of the other guys (they are all very knowledgeable and patient) will help you pick and catch the right waves, and give you as many pointers as they can from the water. They also have someone videotaping from the shore, so you can pick apart what you're doing right or wrong as soon as you get back. One day the waves nearby in Canggu were good so we went there, while another day they drove us down past Seminyak because that had the right waves that day. Each day the crew leaves at 8 AM from the house (I met there but they can pick up people staying locally) and whether it was a mix of beginners/intermediate/advanced surfers they made sure everyone got the type of waves they were looking for. Definitely check out In Da Surf if you want to learn how to surf or improve your surfing!

We stumbled upon In Da Surf while walking around Canggu our 2nd day in Bali, so happy we did! We popped in for lessons and they were welcoming and helpful right away. We surfed with them a total of 4 days. Being beginners we were nervous but it worked out great, we learned so much and had a ton of fun! So much fun we ended up coming back to Canggu just for a couple more lessons. Indra and other guides were awesome and we felt safe at all times, everyone was really knowledgeable and made sure to explain the waves and breaks prior to paddle out. We didn't stay at the surf house but all other people we surfed with raved about it! We definitely recommend this place and are planning on visiting again!! Thanks Indra and staff, we will be back! Surfers House is a real home & Surf lessons were awesome! I stayed in Surfers House in my 1rst week in Bali, i was really really happy with my decision to book surf and stay! I just had 6 surflesson in a row with Indra and Moks as instructors and shared surfing and lesson with really nice other people from all over the world. I felt really comfortable and safe with Indra and Moks in the water and improved a lot my little surfing experiences! They give u after every wave an advice and motivate and support you, when your arms won’t paddle any deeper or stronger We checked out different spots to surf too, so that we didn’t got stuck in our ‚comfortzone’ and got chance to see different breaks. A funny ride back home in the car and video analysis in the end of every lesson completeted the surfing and motivated you for the next day. Finally the Surfers House with Hugo, Indra and the whole lovely staff is a really warm place with really good and chilled out atmosphere, a beautiful garden and comfy outdoor couches, fullfilled with good people who like to hang out togehter and enjoy Canggu life and surfing! I and my wife, with very little surfing experience, got 5 surfing lessons from Indra. On the first day, it was really hard to just paddle out in the Canggu`s big waves but Indra encouraged us to be relaxed and keep going. After 2 more days, we could stay in the water for straight 2hours and manage to ride on the waves. Indra was a really genuine but laid-back instructor who knows the Canngu area really well as he`s real local surfer from Bali. His feedback helped me a lot to improve my surfing. We learned not only surfing skill but attitude of how we confront the waves and surfing itself. After we finished the lesson, we could enjoy surfing in Batu bolong point by ourselves even in the big wave days without much hassles. Just my 2 cents.. they take very good quality photos and videos for you if you get package lesson :) highly recommended
Just got back from Bali and had the best time surfing with Indra and Hugo. I booked four days of intermediate lessons and they really helped me get from beginner to the next level. The guys were really patient with me and helped me pick the good waves, while also listening to me when I didn't feel confident. They also took video footage to show me where I was going wrong. Has really helped my technique. I have come back feeling like a real surfer now. They also took my friends out who had never surfed and made them feel at ease, even when they felt nervous. Really nice, chilled out and funny guys. I will be back for sure!!

It is my first time to visit Bali and I am very pleased to meet Hugo and Indra from Inda Surf. They are so friendly and lovely. I got a surf lesson for five days from Indra and stayed in Surfer's House for two weeks. Indra is a really nice local instructor. He encouraged me all the time and taught noy only surfing but attitude of mind how I respect the waves. The video also helped me to know my position. I highly recommend Inda Surf and Surfer's house. I had a good experience with the Surf Bigger course and Apnea who delivered the course learning introductory free diving techniques, breath holds and information to help which has improved my confidence for surfing varied waves as a beginning intermediate surfer i felt it is time to step up to the next level and thank In Da Surf for the offering. first and foremost, I love INDASURF. While I was staying there and learning surfing, all staffs were super kind and made me felt like I was in home. Then surf coach, Indra, he taught me a lot about the sea and waves. so I could learn how to respect them in a positive way. specially I like his soft charisma! I highly recommend to get along with INDASURF, if you guys visit Bali to learn surf. I still miss Hugo, Indra and their lovely offspring, Shopie^^
